Holiday villa Vilamoura - Sophia (Quinta Sophia)

Description

Quinta Sophia comprises three eautifully restored properties clustered around a courtyard, two of which overlook the pool. Set on a hill, approx. a mile from the main road, the properties are located in a tiny village of some 15 houses, surrounded by citrus groves. Beaches at Vilamoura and Albufeira are only a short drive away.

The properties can be rented individually or together for larger parties and comprise Almond Tree House, a three bedroom villa to sleep 6; The Bake House, a two bedroom villa to sleep 4 and Carob Cottage, a studio cottage to sleep 2.  Together they can sleep up to 12.  For really large parties, Quinta Sebastian is just across the road and can sleep up to 10 people.  Further information and photographs of all four properties can be found on the individually named pages of this web site.

Almond Tree House is the largest of the three cottages and can accomodate 6 people. It has a large well equipped open plan farmhouse kitchen with all the usual amenities, including a dishwasher and microwave oven.  French windows lead from both the kitchen and sitting room on to a shady terrace with its own barbeque and a large wooden table and benches.  The comfortable sitting room has satellite television and a selection of children’s and family videos and a wood burning fire for the winter months.  Additionally there is a downstairs cloakroom with WC. Up the gated stairs are three bedrooms with wooden floors, each of which has a beautiful view over the garden and pool area and surrounding countryside. The master bedroom has a double bed and en-suite bathroom, and the other bedrooms have two single beds and share a shower room.

The Bake House is a pretty cottage festooned with bougainvillea and is very comfortable for up to four people. There is a delightful sitting room with satellite television, a selection of videos and some books and games.  The kitchen is well equipped with the usual amenities including a dishwasher and microwave. The master bedroom has a double bed and balcony over looking the pool and valley, and the other bedroom has twin beds and shares the bathroom. They both have wooden floors. There is a stair gate at the top of the stairs.  There is a wood burning fire for the winter months. French windows lead from the living room into a walled patio where you can cook your barbeques and dine in the shade. There is a secure gate from the patio to the car park and garden for extra peace of mind for parents with smaller children.

Carob Cottage is charming and perfect for two people. It has a bed-sitting room with satellite television and a selection of videos. A typically Portuguese blue and yellow tiled kitchen and a shower room. At the front of the cottage there is a small terrace for dining alfresco, complete with barbeque and there is also a large secluded roof terrace with sun beds and views out over the valley. It is simple but comfortable and is all on ground level.
