What’s to Love on the Algarve

For many travellers, the perfect vacation setting includes stunning beaches, exotic sights and beautiful weather. If you combine this with fresh, delicious cuisine and lots of activities, then this is the Algarve in a nutshell.

The Algarve, also known as the Golden Triangle, is the Southern region of Portugal, framed with miles of the golden coastline and quaint little villages. This European paradise is teeming with history and culture just waiting to be explored. There really is something for everyone on the Algarve, making this one of the most perfect destinations to try.

The weather

The Algarve is sunny almost all year round and it’s very rare that temperatures drop below 10 degrees, even in the heart of winter. The hot Summer days on the coast are often a little bit cooler due to the Atlantic ocean breeze.

June to September is peak season for the most glorious weather in the Algarve, reaching highs of 40 degrees and rarely dropping below 30. Many holiday goers also love visiting the Algarve in the Autumn months (October and November), when the temperatures have cooled down slightly, but the sun is still shining. Even in these cooler months, the temperatures remain in the mid-20ss.

Beaches

The Algarve is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The golden coastline has mile long stretches of golden sand beaches and quaint little villages for you to explore. The best beaches in the Algarve can be found across different locations.

Praia Da Falésia in Vilamoura is one of the most beautiful beaches, with over 6 km of golden sand to explore, this is perfect for the entire family. This beach is located in the quieter corners of the Algarve, but is also close to a lot of great bars and restaurants.

Praia De Vilamoura is one of the more popular beaches, which is close to some of the largest hotels in Vilamoura. Here you can hire sun loungers and basque in the sun all day long. This is also a great option for the family, with lots of little shops and eateries around to grab an ice cream of a spot of lunch.
