3 Essentials You Need For Private Villa Holidays

Your holiday is booked and confirmed and you’ve chosen your villa, so it is natural that your thoughts turn to the next step – those all-important holiday essentials. If this is your first private villa holiday, then you’re bound to have plenty of questions – “what do I need to take”, “what things will the villa already have?” and not forgetting when you arrive at the airport “what have I forgotten?”.

As with all holidays, your head is bound to be spinning with to-do lists, questions and things to remember. This is where we come in to help. Here at The Real Algarve, we put a huge focus on making your holiday and relaxing as possible and have a wide range of services available to help you every step of the way.

From the moment you make your first enquiry to checking out of your villa at the end of your holiday, our team are on hand 24/7, making sure that all of our private villa holidays are everything you have dreamed of and more.

But, there are some things which you need for private villa holidays to make your stay as relaxing as possible and turning your villa into a real home from home.

Plan Your Food and Drink

Our villas come complete with their own kitchen and outdoor cooking area, meaning that you’ve got the space and facilities to cook your own meals as and when you’d like. This means, however, that you will likely need to go to a local supermarket to stock up on food and drink for your holiday. Private villa holidays come with the luxury of being able to cook and drink whatever you’d like, in comparison to all-inclusive holidays, so be sure to make the most of local food markets, traditional ingredients and fresh fruit and veg.

Before you get to the supermarket, be sure to do a small shopping list with the essentials for your family so that you don’t get too overwhelmed once you’re in there. If you fancy a night off from cooking, our villas are located close by to bars and restaurants, or you could even consider a private chef or dining experience from our concierge services for a little added luxury.

Spare Towels

Although all of our villas come with a range of towels and pool towels, you can never have enough, especially if you are heading on a family holiday. If you have younger children, then you’ll know all too well that one or two are likely to end up in the pool or sea, or covered in sand or melted ice cream, so having a few spares ones to use whilst they dry will make your stay a little less stressful.

Beach Bag

The Algarve is home to over 100 beaches, so you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing one for a day trip or walk along the coast. Be sure to bring a bag which is big enough to hold all of your beach accessories, such as towels, suncream and beach toys for children, as carrier bags can be a little untrustworthy! Our concierge services also include pool and beach toy hire for younger children

Depending on your plans, you might also want to bring a cooler bag for drinks and snacks or comfortable shoes if you plan on walking and exploring the wonders of the Algarve coastline.

Each one of our villas is different, so if you want to check what is or isn’t included in your villa before your holiday, get in touch with us. What you bring will, of course, depend on your personal preferences and wishes. Our extensive concierge services also include pool and beach toy hire for younger children, first-day shopping essentials and even children’s armbands, so if you do forget something during your stay, we’re here to help.
