5 Reasons Why You’ll Never Get Bored On Your Algarve Vacation

From Michelin star restaurants, to cocktail bars and waterparks, you’ll be able to get the holiday you’re looking for. If you go slightly further east you’ll find idyllic little towns that are like something from the past, or head to the west for an experience filled with nature. You’ll find friendly people, excellent food and wine and beautiful scenery, what else could we want from a holiday? Below are a few of the great things that happen in the Algarve, giving you options if you wanted a day away from the beach!

New Years Eve

If you’re in Albufeira to see through the New Year, there is an exciting party on the square behind Praia dos Pescadores which attracts a huge crowd due to the fireworks and entertainment. I’d suggest avoiding this one if you were wanting to celebrate the New Year in a quiet setting as this one will be lively! With highs of 17 degrees and lows of 9 in December, this is a great time of year to visit as its out of the peak season so you could perhaps experience a more authentic version of the Algarve away from the tourists.

Live Music at Casa Velha

Experience an amazing dining experience with live music every Thursday from June through to August at Casa Velha. The food is fabulous, but the setting is perhaps even more so. You can watch the sunset and stargaze, all of which can be accompanied with exceptional food and drink. For lovers of music or sunsets, food or drink (so all of you out there!) you can’t miss out on this experience.

Mini Golf Family Parties

For those of you on a family holiday, head to Quinta do Lago in Central Algarve for a great evening of family fun playing mini golf, with kids entertainment and refreshments. If you want to escape the kids entertainment at the hotel for the night, there is nothing better than this. You can enjoy this evening every Sunday from June through to August, and it certainly isn’t just for kids. It costs nine euros per adult, with a child going free for every paying adult.

Take a Sunset Safari

Watch the sunset over the Algarve on this magical excursion. Available from May through to September, Alsafari will take you in a 4×4 vehicle where you can learn about the local culture, experience breathtaking views and get the chance to swim in a local beach river. This includes dinner and is a fantastic opportunity that you can’t find in many other places. This activity is family friendly and will certainly give your kids something to tell their friends when they get back to school!

Sardine Festival

Another event in Albufeira, this time in August, is the sardine festival. It’s probably obvious, but this one is for fish lovers. You’ll have the opportunity to try some of the freshest fish you ever will, simply grilled with olive oil. You can enjoy wine and music and take some time to relax and eat great food. It’s located in Olhos de Agua, near .
