The Algarve really has some of the best things to offer including great weather, scrumptious seafood and glamorous beaches. When you combine these together it can create the perfect setting for a beach restaurant and the Algarve has plenty of these to offer.

It can be the ideal place for your family or you and your partner to embrace the views and culinary excellence that the Algarve can offer. We’ve created a list just for you of the beast beach restaurants on the Algarve for you to try when you come for your holiday.

Vila Joya Sea

This may look like a simple beach shack from the outside, but once you enter it’s considered a foodie hot-spot for many visitors of the Algarve. It boasts a Michelin star status and is led by head chef Dieter Koschina.

It’s based just west of Albufeira, between the glorious villas in Portugal. It’s laid back setting includes wicker lamps displayed on the cocktail counter with a view to die for overseeing the Atlantic. As for the food, it’s no wonder it’s considered one of the best beach restaurants on the Algarve. From sushi to grilled sea-bass, it has plenty of variety on offer.

Boia Bar

If it’s seafood that you’re into then Boia Bar might just become your favorite place to visit on the holiday. The spectacular part about the restaurant is it looks over the beach where your meals are freshly caught by the fisherman located on it.

It offers great wine choices to compliment your seafood dishes perfectly and they’re the ideal beverage to have whilst you wait for your food to arrive.  The grilled style fishes tend to be the most popular, sizzling over steaming hot coal to cook your fish to perfection. An added incentive is the regional salad that’s freshly prepared at the restaurant to accompany your dish.

Gigi Praia

Giga Praia is one of the hidden gems found in the Algarve. It provides a brilliant lunch experience from the way to access it alone. The only way it can be reached is by crossing one of the longest wooden footbridges in Europe. Not only this, but Gigi himself is one of the great attractions at the restaurant, in and out of the kitchen to welcome guests and looking over his staff.

As for the food, you may find a glimpse of the ‘Catch of the Day’ blackboard located in the restaurant. This tends to include foods such as octopus eggs and spicy peri-peri-grilled prawns. Many of the ingredients found at the restaurants are sourced locally from farms and vineyards, ensuring you’re getting the best of the Algarve from your dish.

Rei Das Praias

Rei Das Praias offers a beach setting nothing quite like it. The beach it’s located on appears small, but not too small and it’s probably considered to be one of the best fish restaurants in the region. When you first arrive, you’ll be welcomed with complimentary appetisers at your table – this includes goat’s cheese, crusty bread and a range of fresh vegetables.

Conveniently, when the fishers catch your fish the kitchen fillet your fish for an attractive looking plate to be presented with. You also have a selection of wine bottles to choose from with the restaurant lined with some of the best wines to offer. It’s no wonder it’s considered one of the best beach restaurants in the region. Ensure you book in advance as it tends to get rather busy, as you can imagine.
